About Wysocs
WYSOCS is a Christian education centre exploring the power of faith in learning for every aspect of life. Based in Leeds, we provide resources for Christians throughout the UK and beyond to engage culture with an authentically Christian worldview.
WYSOCS brings a striking message: what goes on in the Kingdom of God is just as important as how to get in! Our vision includes all kinds of study, work and play in the idea of God's calling – opening up whole new vistas to church-goers and sceptics alike. WYSOCS is not revolutionary: it's reformational – about redeeming our culture. In fact, we find this worldview provides powerful resources for evangelism where traditional approaches are struggling.
WYSOCS now works in three areas:
LifeMatters hosts public discussions, conferences and courses on particular issues such as climate change, history, the arts and media. Drawing on practising professionals and scholars from around the world, we seek to promote good Christian scholarship and to ground our own thoughts and lives in a wider context.
RealityBites reaches out to people through subversive questions and stories. Uncovering modern ideologies and grappling with the big questions of our time, our speakers inspire young and old to become a transforming influence in society. Our unique approach demonstrates the potential of a biblical framework as we work with teachers, youth workers and other groups to empower a new generation of ‘salt and light’ in the world.
Faith-in-Scholarship is a new project to support postgraduate students in U.K. universities. A postgrads’ support worker will liaise with student-led groups, assisting networking among students and with established Christian academics in their fields.
